A clerestory is a wall with a band of narrow windows below the vault (arched ceiling) of a church. The clerestory wall usually rises above adjoining roofs.
Originally, the word clerestory referred to the upper level of a church or cathedral.
St. Joseph's doesn't have an actual clerestory, but it has a set of fourteen window-like panels, each with a different symbolic design.
