Good News
Someone asked Jesus if many will be saved. Jesus answered, "try to enter through the narrow gate". Many will try to attempt, but will fail. If we strive to do our best, we will succeed. Let us be found worthy to enter the Kingdom of God.

St. Joseph - Holy Spirit BBQ - tickets for the Sun. Sept. 23rd barbecue are on sale before and after Masses. The cost is $8.00 for adults, $4.00 for children. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at the Otter River Sportsmen's Club that day. Buy your tickets and lets get together and have a good time!

A special collection for the Catholic League for Religious Assistance to Poland will be taken up today. This is an annual collection by the parish. Please be generous to this appeal. This collection is for priests from Poland who want to study abroad and cannot afford to pay.

Picnic and Fall Fair Wrap-Up Meeting - Mon. Sept. 3, (Labor Day) at 6:30 PM in the church hall.

On Sunday Sept. 9, 2007, we at St. Joseph will officially open our 100th Anniversary at the 10:30 AM Mass. I ask that all parish and civic organizations be represented at this Mass as well as parishioners of St. Joseph. This is a milestone for all of us, and you should celebrate it to the greatest extent. Following the Mass, a toast will be given by all in the church hall. Everyone is invited to attend.

Last week's picnic at the PACC club was a success. To all who worked getting things together and setting up and taking down, a big THANK YOU. Everyone had a good time. The winners of the money raffle were Al Borey and Sophie Valeri. To everyone who supported the picnic - THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS.

Next Weekend, Sept. 1 & 2, our Mission Co-op will take place. The speaker is from the Haitian Apostolate from Worcester. Please be generous in your second collection to help this worthy cause.

R.I.C.A. - Every year thousands of people across this land are joining the Catholic church. Some of them are in need of baptism, others are already Christians but want to become Catholics and many who somehow drifted away from the Church. We are presently asking all those interested to call the rectory for additional information. The program will begin at the end of September and those who are contemplating entering into the full communion of the Catholic Church should take the first step and call within the next few weeks. I encourage also those who are planning to get married and have not received the sacrament of Confirmation to contact the rectory.
