Good News
Jesus invites everyone to the table of the Lord - the blind, lame, poor and crippled. To see these people is to receive a blessing from the Lord. To treat them properly, is to receive the kingdom of God. Let us open our hearts to all.

St. Joseph - Holy Spirit BBQ - tickets for the Sun. Sept. 23rd barbecue are on sale before and after Masses. The cost is $8.00 for adults, $4.00 for children. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at the Otter River Sportsmen's Club that day. Buy your tickets and lets get together and have a good time!

We celebrate Labor Day this Monday. It is a time to reflect on everyone who works and labors for a living. Thank the Lord we can still manage for ourselves and families.

Picnic and Fall Fair Wrap-Up Meeting - Mon. Sept. 3, (Labor Day) at 6:30 PM in the church hall.

Next Sunday at the 10:30 AM Mass, we will officially open our 100th Anniversary. It will be a year of activities. After Mass, a toast will be given in the church hall. Everyone is invited to attend. All parish and civic organizations are expected to attend.

Today we have our annual Mission Co-op appeal. Sister Judith from the Haitian Apostolate will speak at all Masses. Please be generous in your second collection.

First Friday of the month is this week. Mass will be at 7:30 AM.

St. Edward the Confessor Parish, 10 Church St. Westminster will hold its annual Fall Festival on Sat. Sept. 14 from 10 - 7 PM on the Church grounds. The Festival features good food, games for children and adults, a large "Attic Treasures" flea market, cash raffle, entertainment, etc. If you want a good time, please plan on attending.

R.I.C.A. - Every year thousands of people across this land are joining the Catholic church. Some of them are in need of baptism, others are already Christians but want to become Catholics and many who somehow drifted away from the Church. We are presently asking all those interested to call the rectory for additional information. The program will begin at the end of September and those who are contemplating entering into the full communion of the Catholic Church should take the first step and call within the next few weeks. I encourage also those who are planning to get married and have not received the sacrament of Confirmation to contact the rectory.
