Good News

Jesus tells His disciples He will send the Spirit of Truth to help them proclaim the gospel. This Spirit of Truth is the Holy Spirit. We continue to rejoice in the resurrection as we await the Spirit of Life.

CCD NEWS - Sun. April 27th, classes will be from 10:15 - 11:45 AM for Grades1-6 and 6:00 - 7:30 PM for Grades 7-8-9. May 3rd there will be a First Penance & First Communion Retreat from 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM. May 9th at 6:30 PM First Penance Service. May 10th at 10:00 AM First Communion Celebration.

There will be a meeting of the 100th Anniversary committee and Fund raising on Monday, April 28th at 6:30 PM in the church hall.

This Thurs., May 1st, is a Holyday of Obligation - the Ascension of the Lord into Heaven. Masses will be Wed., April 30th at 5 PM at St. Joseph. On Thurs. May 1st , Masses will be at 7:30 AM at St. Joseph and 9 AM and 7 PM at Holy Spirit.

This coming week is First Friday of the month. Mass will be at 7:30 AM.

Next Sunday, May 4th, we will have two children from St. Joseph receiving First Holy Communion at the 10:30 Mass. Meagan Wyson and Antonio LeBlanc will receive Jesus for the first time. Please pray for them and their families. We will also crown the Blessed Mother on that day. The children will do the honors.

FORTY HOURS DEVOTIONS - usually held on the first weekend of May will be held on the weekend of Sept. 26, 27 & 28 in conjunction with our 100th Anniversary Mass. Please save your envelope until that time.

Guess Who??? - as part of our centennial celebration, we are having a contest to see if anyone can name the young lady in the picture on the counter at the back of the church. Please fill out the slip of paper and put it into the container. The prize is $50.00.

Relay for Life News: - due to age, illness, etc., we have lost many fundraising walkers this year. Please consider joining St. Joseph Trotters - we need you! Smelly Jellies are back - $5 each to benefit Relay for Life. - 50's hot dog & bean luncheon on Sun. April 27th from noon - 1:30 PM. Raffles, root beer floats, Elvis impersonator - $5.00 per person. Please call Ellie Fleurant (630-3079) or Mike Yablonski (632-8457) for further information. Anyone wishing to bake for the hot dog and bean luncheon, please let Ellie or Mike know. Items can be dropped off before or after Mass on Sat. eve. or Sun. morning. Thanks for your help.
