"O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" Jesus tells Peter and the disciples to trust and have faith. The gospel assures us of trusting in God. Let us open our hearts to hear the voice of the Lord telling us to have faith, not doubt.

On Sun., Aug. 24th, a bus trip sponsored by the Rosary Sodality will be attending Fr. Charlie Borowski's Parish for the new ICON covering in Southbridge, Ma. The cost of the bus will be $15.00 per person. A sign up sheet will be in the back of the church. Only 47 seats. Following church services, the bus will stop on the way home for dinner. Note: if we do not get at least 40 people to go to Fr. Charlie's church by next Sunday, Aug. 17th, the trip will be cancelled. I must know by then, so that I can cancel the bus.

Prizes may be picked up on Wed., Aug. 13th for 6 - 8 PM in the church hall.

This coming Friday is a Holyday of Obligation - Assumption of Mary into Heaven. Masses will be at 5 PM Thurs. and 7:30 AM Friday at St. Joseph. There will be a blessing of flowers and herbs at both Masses at St. Joseph. Masses at Holy Spirit are 9 AM and 7 PM on Friday, Aug. 15th.

The Gardner PACC Club is having a Polish Picnic on Sun., Aug. 17th. There will be a Polka band and food - advanced complete meal tickets ($9) are available by calling 978-632-9729. Come and join the fun - rain or shine!

On the weekend of Aug. 23-24, we will have the annual collection for the Catholic League for Religious Assistance to Poland to help priests to study in colleges and Universities. Bishop McManus has given permission to take up a second collection for this worthy cause. Please be generous.

Centennial Choir - we will have a special choir for our upcoming 100th Anniversary liturgical events. We will be singing at 3 services - Fri., Sept. 26th at 7 PM, Sun., Sept. 28th at 2 PM and at the 3 PM Anniversary Mass. Rehearsals (held at St. Joseph) start on Wed. Aug. 20th from 7 - 8:30 PM. Contact Sharon Sawtell (978-632-7216) by Aug. 15th if you plan to participate, to insure that there is sufficient music. Weekly Wed. choir attendance is extremely important to the overall success of this endeavor. Please, come join us!!!

Stewardship of Ministries
If you love your parish and would like to do something to help, then you are the one we are looking for.

1. We are in need of more Servers. If you made your First Communion then you are perfect for the job.
2. We need more Greeters. All you have to do is greet parishioners as they enter the church and hand out bulletins.
3. We need more Lectors. Training will be provided.
4. We need more Eucharistic Ministers. Training will be provided.

Box tops for Education - we are collecting "box tops for education." There is a listing of all participating products next to the collection box. Please help us by saving as many box tops as possible and placing them in the collection box on the first landing over the next several weeks. Thank you.
