Good News
We hear about the birth of Christ in today's gospel from St. Matthew and how Joseph & Mary are to name the child "Jesus," a name which means "Emmanuel, God is with us." Let us prepare for this wonderful feast by listening to the words of St. Matthew and keeping them in our hearts.

CCD NEWS - due to the snow storm last Sunday, the Penance Service will be held this Sunday, Dec. 23rd at 2 PM at Holy Spirit Church. All CCD students from grade 3 to confirmation classes must attend.

A Penance Service will be held today, Dec. 23rd at 2 PM in Holy Spirit Church. Everyone is invited to participate.

Tickets for the annual Oplatek Dinner to be held on Sun., Jan. 20, 2008 are on sale for $8.00 before and after Masses.

Holy Rosary Sodality members are asked to pay their dues before the end of the year. Please see Yvonne Kulczyk.

Estate Planning - while you are considering your 2007 income tax savings, this may also be a good time to consider long-term tax savings. The federal estate tax can still take 40% to 50% of one's estate at the time of death. It definitely pays to do some advance planning with your attorney and financial advisor. We hope you will consider a charitable bequest in your will to St. Joseph Parish that will benefit us while saving you estate tax dollars.
