Good News
This first Sunday of Lent, we hear of Jesus being tempted by the devil in the desert. He resists the devil's wishes and tells him, "thou shalt not tempt the Lord." In our everyday struggles, we often are tempted and sometimes we give in. In this season of Lent, let us strive to resist the "evil one" and his works and serve God.

Today, we will begin our annual Partners in Charity Appeal with the In-Pew envelope. If you wish to leave your donation you may, if not, bring it back next week. St. Joseph's goal is $7,000. Please help us to achieve this goal.

120 CLUB tickets are for sale before and after Masses.

Lent is a time of purification and enlightenment for all catechumens. We have two candidates this year who will be preparing for Confirmation on Holy Saturday Vigil - Luis Pena from St. Joseph and Danielle Champagne from Holy Spirit Parish. They will be received by Bishop McManus this Sunday at the Cathedral at 3 PM. Please pray for them and their families in this Lenten Season.

Bishop McManus will be leading a diocesan pilgrimage to the 49th International Eucharistic Congress in Quebec, Canada from June 18-23. The Bishop is asking each parish to appoint a member, by Feb. 15th, to serve as the contact person. If this parishioner can enroll 15 other parishioners, he/she will be given a free trip. If anyone is interested as serving as this contact person, please see Fr. Tom as soon as possible.
