Good News

This weekend the church celebrates the feast of St. Peter and St. Paul. Today we begin a year in honor of St. Paul, a man who persecuted and killed, but later was changed by the hand of God and became a man of faith. Let us entrust ourselves to the thinking of this great man.

Peter's Pence Collection - the weekend of June 28th & 29th. The proceeds of this appeal fund emergency relief assistance to those who suffer from war, oppression, disease and natural disaster in addition to helping the Holy Father spread the gospel message throughout the world. Please be generous.

This week is First Friday of the month. Mass will be at 7:30 AM.

We celebrate the Fourth of July this coming Friday. July 4th is a day of "freedom" according to our forefathers who wrote the Constitution. Let us celebrate with honor and pride. The parish office will be closed.

During the past winter season, we encountered many cold and snowy days. It seemed the furnace never stopped, especially in church. To give you an example of what we spent from Sept. 1, 2007 to May 31, 2008, the rectory spent $6,882.03 on oil, the church $20,170.17. I ask you to continue your giving to the Fuel Fund as much as you can for this coming year. Thank you.

Theme baskets - the committee preparing theme baskets for the centennial church fair in August is asking for donations. Anyone interested in donating an item may contact Adele Peterson (632-3362) or Carolyn Fournier (632-1420).

Box tops for Education - we are collecting "box tops for education." There is a listing of all participating products next to the collection box. Please help us by saving as many box tops as possible and placing them in the collection box on the first landing over the next several weeks. Thank you.

Stewardship of Ministries

If you love your parish and would like to do something to help, then you are the one we are looking for.

  1. We are in need of more Servers. If you made your First Communion then you are perfect for the job.
  2. We need more Greeters. All you have to do is greet parishioners as they enter the church and hand out bulletins.
  3. We need more Lectors. Training will be provided.
  4. We need more Eucharistic Ministers. Training will be provided.
If you think you can help in anyway, either see Fr. Tom or fill out the Stewardship of Ministries form at the back of the church.
