We hear the story of Lazarus in today's gospel. Lazarus who died and was buried was awakened by Jesus. The miracle that took place was a foretaste of our resurrection. Let us rejoice in the Lord as we think about His glorious resurrection coming up shortly.
CCD NEWS - Regular classes are this Sun. March 9th. Grades 1-6 will meet at Holy Spirit from 10:15-11:45 AM. Grades 7-8-9 will meet from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. Father Joseph will speak to all the CCD students and teachers in the morning and evening classes. Next Sun., March 16th, the First Communion Class will meet from 10:15-11:45 AM. There will be a Penance service at 2 PM that all CCD students must attend. Rosary Sodality meeting on Sun. March 9th at 1 PM. There will be a trip to the Gardner Museum to view St. Joseph memorabilia followed by a very short meeting. Return to church for the Parish Mission at 2 PM.
The Gardner Museum will be displaying different memorabilia from St. Joseph Parish in honor of our centennial. There will be an OPENING NIGHT RECEPTION on Thurs., March 13th from 6 - 8 PM. All are invited to attend.
Next Sunday is Palm Sunday. A Penance service will be held at 2 PM in Holy Spirit Church. All CCD students are expected to attend. Confirmation class will be held after the service.
PARISH MISSION - Everyone has the opportunity to try to attend some or all of the Parish Mission either at St. Joseph or at Holy Spirit. Parish Missions help us to renew our faith. We should all try to attend. Here is the schedule.
Next Saturday, we celebrate our patronal feast - St. Joseph. The original date is March 19th, but being Holy Week, it is observed on March 15th. Mass will be at 7:30 AM.
PALM SUNDAY BAKE SALE - a bake sale will be held before and after Masses next Sunday sponsored by the Rosary Sodality. Many "goodies" for Easter.
Tickets for the Swienconka (Easter Dinner) will be on sale before and after all Masses this weekend and next. The price is $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children.
Holy Spirit Fish Fry's will be held every Friday during Lent. The cost is $9.00 per person. Meal time is 5:30 PM.
CHOIR REHEARSAL - we will have a combined choir for our Holy Week Services on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil. We would love to include many singers from both churches! Rehearsals will be held on Wed. nights from 7 - 8:30 PM at St. Joseph Church. If you plan on joining, please let Sharon Sawtell (978-632-7216) know so she can plan adequate music copies.
