Good News

We celebrate the feast of the Body and Blood of Christ, Corpus Christi in Latin. This feast tells us of the many ways Jesus offered His disciples and people the meaning of the Eucharist. The Eucharist is the Body and Blood of Jesus.

Today, we honor the Veterans from Gardner in the annual Memorial Day Veteran's Mass. To those who lost their lives in the various conflicts throughout the world, may they rest in the peace of Christ.

Monday is Memorial Day, a day of "Remembrance." Prayers and a parade will begin at 9 AM at the Polish Veteran's Square on Pleasant St. Pray for our veterans living and deceased.

People who are moving or who will be away for a lengthy period of time, please let the rectory know concerning your envelopes because there is a cost associated in having envelopes mailed to each parishioner. Any envelopes that are returned from the post office also cost the parish extra. So, please, keep us informed.

Many things are happening in the diocese especially in the City of Worcester with the closing of churches and reconfiguration of parishes and churches. This is a reality that we went through two years ago in Gardner and may happen in the future. Please be aware of these realities.

Catholic Communication Campaign will take place on the weekend of June 1st. Most of your donation stays in the diocese and is used for such TV programs as Daily Mass, the Sunday Mass and the Family Rosary. These are important shows for the homebound. Please be generous in your donation.

St. Joseph 100th anniversary exhibit at the Gardner Museum will be ending on May 31st. This is your last chance to view it. Museum hours are Wed. thru Sun. from 1 - 4 PM.

Box tops for Education - we are collecting "box tops for education." There is a listing of all participating products next to the collection box. Please help us by saving as many box tops as possible and placing them in the collection box on the first landing over the next several weeks. Thank you.

Stewardship of Ministries
If you love your parish and would like to do something to help, then you are the one we are looking for.

  1. We are in need of more Servers. If you made your First Communion then you are perfect for the job.
  2. We need more Greeters. All you have to do is greet parishioners as they enter the church and hand out bulletins.
  3. We need more Lectors. Training will be provided.
  4. We need more Eucharistic Ministers. Training will be provided.
All of these ministries are very important and they are not hard to do. This is your parish and we need to get involved. If you think you can help in anyway, either see Fr. Tom or fill out the Stewardship of Ministries form at the back of the church.

WELCOME - NEW PARISHIONERS - We are always happy to welcome new people into our parish family. If you have discovered our church and like what you experience, why not become a member? Speak to Fr. Tom after Mass or call the rectory to set up a time that is convenient for you to fill out a simple registration form.
