Jesus always hears us. If we petition Him and pray for His guidance, He will answer us in our need. If we do wrong in hurting our brothers and sisters, we should ask forgiveness. Jesus is always there to help us.
Now that summer is almost over, we can get back to the regular events in the parish.
There will be a Parish Council Meeting on Mon., Sept. 8th at 6:30 PM in the church hall. All members of the council are asked to attend.
There are two (2) weeks left for buying tickets for the 100th Anniversary banquet on Sun., Sept. 28th. Tickets are $25.00 per person, $12.00 for children. Mass with Bishop Rueger will be at 3 PM followed by the banquet at P.A.C.C. hall. I hope you fill the church and banquet hall with many people.
St. Edward the Confessor Parish, Westminster, will hold its annual Fall Festival on Sat., Sept. 13th from 10 - 7 on the church grounds. The festival features food, games for children and adults, a large "Attic Treasures" flea market, cash raffle, silent auction, Specialty Booths, entertainment and many locally produced craft items.
Holy Spirit is one of either Gardner area churches that will come together for a 10 week Scripture Study Program as we explore the "Acts of the Apostles" beginning Sun., Sept. 14th through Nov. 16th. The program will run from 6:30 - 8:00 PM at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Kraft St. The Little Rock Scripture Program includes reading materials and a workbook. Each session will include prayer and singing, discussion and a guest pastor. Please register by Sept. 7th with Alma Favreau (978-632-0902). The fee for the program is $20. Centennial Choir - we will have a special choir for our upcoming 100th Anniversary liturgical events. Rehearsals (held at St. Joseph) start on Wed. Aug. 20th from 6 - 7:30 PM. Weekly Wed. choir attendance is extremely important to the overall success of this endeavor. Please, come join us!!!
'THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE' - this coming Fri. & Sat. a pre-screening of this important new film will be shown. Anyone over 13 is invited. This film has been named 2008 "Best Humanitarian Film" & "Best Documentary Film." You can view the film's trailer at www.grassrootsfilms.com. Screenings are Fri. Sept. 5th at 7PM, Sat. Sept. 6th at 2PM & 6PM at Holy Name High School, 144 Granite St., Worcester. Cost is $10 per person.
