Good News

Jesus selects His disciples in today's gospel. He tells them the "Kingdom of heaven is at hand, proclaim the gospel." As He selects His disciples, He speaks to us, that we too may proclaim the kingdom of God.

CCD NEWS - Classes resume today, Jan. 25th. Attendance at the 9:00 AM Mass is mandatory. CCD classes will follow from 10-11 AM for grades 1-10. Regular classes will also be held on Feb. 1st and Feb. 8th.

Parish Council meeting scheduled for Jan. 12th has been re-scheduled to February 9th at 6:30 PM in the church hall.

Catholic Home Missions Appeal - this weekend is the collection for the Home Missions. This appeal helps dioceses that cannot provide basic pastoral services to their people without outside help. Your donation helps with pastoral activities including religious education, training for priests, deacons, lay people and the support of poor parishes. Please be generous.

FOCA (Freedom of Choice Act) - this weekend, our parish will join Catholics across the country in sending a message to Congress: Please oppose the "Freedom of Choice Act" and retain laws against government funding and promotion of abortion. We ask that you sign postcards, available in the rear of the church, to your U.S. Representative and two U.S. Senators opposing this legislation.

During the season of Lent, we will be participating in the annual Partners in Charity Appeal in the diocese. Lent begins Feb. 25th. More details later.

The Gardner CAC is looking for donations for their pantries to help the needy. If you have any canned goods, leave them off in church.

WELCOME - NEW PARISHIONERS - We are always happy to welcome new people into our parish family. If you have discovered our church and like what you experience, why not become a member? Speak to Fr. Tom after Mass or call the rectory to set up a time that is convenient for you to fill out a simple registration form.
