Today, we begin the season of Advent. The gospel tells us to be watchful and ready. We do not know when the end time comes. This season of Advent is a time to prepare ourselves for the Lord's coming at Christmas.
CCD NEWS - No CCD today, Nov. 30th. Classes will resume next weekend, Dec. 7th.
This coming Friday is First Friday of the month. Mass will be at 7:30 PM.
ONE LAST RAFFLE TO GO - to close out the parish anniversary, a special lottery raffle will be on sale from now to Dec. 7th. On Sun., Dec. 7th, we will have a drawing of the lottery. The price is $10/ticket. Champagne toast after 10:30 AM Mass. The 120 CLUB will resume after the new year.
Sodality Christmas Party - has been re-scheduled to Sun., Dec. 14th at 1:30 PM. It will be a pot luck dinner. Please sign up by Nov. 30th at the back of the church. You do not need to bring a dish to attend the party.
Next Sunday, Dec. 7th, we will officially close our centennial celebration with a toast of champagne and the special raffle. To all who helped in this wonderful celebration - THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS.
Next weekend, the annual appeal for the Retirement Fund for Religious will be taken up at all Masses. This appeal is to help the retired in the diocese. Please be generous.
Oplatki or Christmas wafers are on sale at $4.00 a package. Christmas cards of the interior of the church are also available at $1.00 a card.
The 2009 Mass Book is available for anyone who would like to reserve Mass times for next year. Please reserve your special times early.
We will be forming a joint Christmas Choir to sing at the 4 PM Christmas Eve Mass at St. Joseph Church and the Midnight Mass at Holy Spirit. Rehearsals will start Wed., Dec. 3rd at St. Joseph Church from 6-7PM. Please let Sharon Sawtell (632-7216) the organist, know you will be joining. The more, the merrier. See you there!!
FESTIVAL OF TREES - the 4th annual Festival of Trees will be held at Gardner Museum from Nov. 13 - Dec. 6. St. Joseph Parish is sponsoring a tree this year. Please visit the museum and take chances on winning many unique trees.
Holiday Fair - Holy Spirit Church will hold their Holiday Fair from 8-2, Sat. Dec. 6. There will be Christmas items for sale, raffles, theme baskets, etc. Refreshments served for lunch and a Ham dinner 5-7 PM. To reserve tickets call 978-632-3333.
St. Martin's Fair - St. Martin's Church in Otter River will hold its annual Holiday Fair from 9-3 on Sat. Dec. 6 and from 9-1 on Sun. Dec. 7th at the American Legion Hall, 3 Central St., Baldwinville. There will be raffles, Chinese auction, Polish auction, 40 gift baskets, crafts, toys, etc. Lunch is available as well as coffee and pastry throughout the day.
