John the Baptist announces to prepare the way of the Lord. John is in the wilderness telling the people a great person is to come on the earth - the Lord. John is trying to make all roads and valleys smooth - to cleanse our hearts to receive the Lord.
Confessions will be held every Sat. at 2:30 PM at St. Joseph's through the Christmas season.
CCD NEWS - Today, Sun. Dec. 6th, all students will attend the 9:00 AM Mass. Grades 1-8 will then meet from 10:00 - 11:30 AM. On Sun., Dec. 13th all students will attend 9:00 AM Mass. Grades 1-8 will meet from 10:00 - 11:30 AM. The Confirmation Class, Grades 9 & 10 & Sponsors, will meet from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
Sodality Christmas Party - Today, Sun, Dec. 6th after the 10:30 Mass in the church hall.
This coming Tues., Dec. 8th is a Holyday of Obligation - the feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Mother. Mary was conceived without sin at her birth. May we rejoice with her. Masses will be, Mon., Dec. 7th at 5 PM at St. Joseph. On Wed., Dec. 8th Masses will be 7:30 AM at St. Joseph and 9AM and 7 PM at Holy Spirit. All Catholics are obliged to attend.
CHRISTMAS FLOWERS - all donations for Christmas flowers must be received no later than the weekend of Dec. 19/20 if you want the name of your loved one(s) listed on our Christmas Flower bulletin.
Next weekend, the annual appeal for the Retirement Fund for Religious will be taken up at all Masses. This appeal is to help the retired in the diocese. Please be generous.
On Sun., Dec. 20th, a Penance Service will be held at 2PM in Holy Spirit Church. All CCD students must attend except grades 1 & 2.
Attention all Singers - we will have a joint choir for the 4:00 PM Christmas Eve Mass at Holy Spirit Church. Rehearsals begin Tues., Dec. 1st at 7:00 PM at Holy Spirit Church.
