Today the church celebrates the Baptism of the Lord. It is the beginning of the Lord's public ministry. God sends the Holy Spirit upon Jesus to mark Him out as the Messiah and savior of the world. We officially close the Christmas season.

Thank you to all who decorated the church for Christmas. You did a fantastic job. I'm sure the Lord approved.

CCD NEWS - Today, Sun., Jan. 10th all students will attend 9:00 AM Mass. Grades 1-8 will meet from 10:00 - 11:30 AM. The Confirmation Class, Grades 9 & 10 & Sponsors, will meet from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Jan. 17th - no CCD, Martin Luther King Weekend.

Because of the inclement weather last weekend, tickets for the Christmas dinner today will be on sale before Masses.

PLEASE do not take the little missalettes home. They are for the morning Mass group.

Perpetual Adoration - The Adoration Chapel is in need of more Adorers. Many elderly can no longer commit. If you can do one hour per week, please call Rich Chanley at 632-4733.

St. Joseph's Trotters - tickets will be sold before and after Mass beginning Jan. 16th & 17th for the ham & bean supper to be held Sat., Feb. 6th from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. Donation for the supper is $5.00. Proceeds will benefit the Greater Gardner Relay for Life. Baked goods would be appreciated. Any questions, call Ellie (630-3079) or Mike (632-0495).

As of Jan. 1, 2010, the diocese of Worcester has raised the fee for funeral Masses to $300.00, an increase of $100.00. For people who have pre-paid, the amount of $200.00 stands.

Your pastor will be away on vacation from Jan. 11 - 22. Please note that on Sun., Jan. 17th, the 7 AM Mass will be at 8:30 AM because the priest needs to come from Fitchburg. This is only for this one Sunday while I am away.

By the end of January, everyone who has envelopes or who gives on a regular basis will receive your 2009 donation information for tax purposes. If you have any outstanding envelopes, please pass them in as soon as possible.

St. Joseph is looking for someone to clean the church. If anyone is interested, please see Fr. Tom ASAP. Thank you.
