In today's gospel, St. Luke tells us that Jesus reads in the synagogue and all eyes are on Him. He proclaims liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners. All is fulfilled in your hearing.
CCD NEWS - Today, Sun. Jan. 24th, all students will attend 9:00 AM Mass. Grades 1-8 will meet from 10:00 - 11:30 AM. The Confirmation Class, Grades 9 & 10 & Sponsors will meet from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. On Sun. Jan. 31st, all students will attend 9:00 AM Mass. Grades 1-8 will meet from 10:00 - 11:30 AM.
The manger will be kept up until Feb. 2nd, the date on which the Church officially closes out the Christmas season. I will leave it up to remind us that Jesus was presented in the temple on Feb. 2nd. Stop by the manger and give thanks to God.
Perpetual Adoration - The Adoration Chapel is in need of more Adorers. Many elderly can no longer commit. If you can do one hour per week, please call Rich Chanley at 632-4733.
St. Joseph's Trotters - tickets will be sold before and after Mass beginning Jan. 16th & 17th for the ham & bean supper to be held Sat., Feb. 6th from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. Donation for the supper is $5.00. Proceeds will benefit the Greater Gardner Relay for Life. Baked goods would be appreciated. Any questions, call Ellie (630-3079) or Mike (632-8457).
As of Jan. 1, 2010, the diocese of Worcester has raised the fee for funeral Masses to $300.00, an increase of $100.00. For people who have pre-paid, the amount of $200.00 stands.
By the end of January, everyone who has envelopes or who gives on a regular basis will receive your 2009 donation information for tax purposes. If you have any outstanding envelopes, please pass them in as soon as possible.
