Today, the church celebrates the birth of John the Baptist – the forerunner of Jesus whom we encounter in the Advent season. The mission of John the Baptist is closely bound to the mission of Jesus, namely, he preached conversion and repentance. Let us be heralds of Jesus.

Fri., June 29, St. Peter & St. Paul.
Relay for Life – many thanks to all who supported St. Joseph Trotters. Our 2012 fundraising totaled. $2771.25 for the American Cancer Society.
FORTNIGHT FOR FREEDOM – across the nation there are a variety of rallies and gatherings to express the coercive HHS mandates requiring virtually all health plans to cover contraception, sterilization and drugs. This is the first time in our country that the federal government forces religious institutions to act contrary to our most deeply held religious and moral convictions. The Conference of Catholic Bishops in the US has announced a special period of prayer study and public action called "THE FORTNIGHT FOR FREEDOM." This 14 day period emphasizing both our Christian and American Freedom in the Diocese of Worcester began on Friday, June 22 at the Cathedral. Nazism tried to redefine religious freedom and moral issues and ended in disaster. Let us pray that our efforts and prayer will be united and successful.
For Greater Glory – this film was released in theaters on June 3, 2012. The true story of CRISTIADA – real men and women who stood up for religious freedom. As a nation established on the principal of freedom for all people, For Greater Glory reminds us of the important values that we as Americans and Catholics share and must be willing to protect. This film helps us to understand the history surround the Cristero War and its importance in the Mexican Catholics’ effort to fight for religious freedom and tolerance. Those values are as relevant today as they were almost one hundred years ago.
If any parishioner has any Mass intention and would like the Mass to be said, please see Fr. Tom. I am running out of intentions. It is always good to pray for the deceased.
